Steve and I walked to a neighborhood Italian restaurant where we met his sister, brother in-law, and their two friends. Basically two married couples, a toddler, a baby, and us. :)
We had wine and pasta. I chose pinot and the pesto. It was sooo good.

It's still pretty cold here at night

So I had to bundle up!

It was really dark in there, very  r o m a n t i c .

It was so yummy. The appetizer salad was really good too. I'll have to go back.

The best Mom a girl could have.

My Mom does so much for me, I don't know what I would do without her!

She is strong, smart, beautiful, and fashionable.

Today is her birthday, so this is for her.

w i w - Estate Sales!

We just couldn't resist another day of thrifting this weekend. On Saturday, the employee at the Community Estate Sale store told us about Oregonlive's classified section. The estate sales are separated by area of town; you can pin them on a map, and then route the trip! So cool!

So on Sunday, that is what we did. I found three that were relatively close together and close to us with promising descriptions: "vintage toys/trucks; collectibles: glassware, lamps; books, records.." I think the funnest part of the trip was walking through other people's houses; opening their cabinets and searching for that misplaced milk glass oil lamp or Tonka truck.

I dressed down on Saturday so I couldn't help but dress up a bit.

The first house was really old and run down, but the architecture was beautiful. It had a really unique library room that was rounded with shelves on one wall and bay windows on the facing wall. The bathrooms were original to the house and I loved the tile. I found a complete Lite Brite set in the basement under the stairs. Steve found a Nerf Ping Pong set on the game shelf, I'd never even heard of those. I also found a vintage boho tie, a unique lapel pin, and two cute wire dolls strung on twist-on earrings.
The house

The next stop was pretty crowded and disappointing. Steve found a secret cabinet on the stairs that I was too scared to search through. Especially after he said "there might be bodies back there." haha. I saw a vintage thermos in a pink 70s pattern with no lid but like I said, I wasn't sticking my hand in there. I ended up getting some really cute brown floral cloth napkins that look new for 50 cents.

The last stop was a fully updated house, it reminded me of the first, but had been completely re-done. It had a really cute breakfast nook leading into the dining room that had white wood bench seats and built in shelves. I thought I wasn't going to find anything in my price range here until I realized the brass piece I was mindlessly staring at on the knick knack table was actually a purse! I've never seen anything like it. I was so excited, I didn't notice the chip on the corner or care that the bottom lining had come unglued. Truly a unique piece, I've never seen anything like it!

The loot!

Well that is enough shopping for a little while. Now it's time to get to work. Keep your eyes on Mothballz, new items listed daily!

w i w - Thrifty Day

Steve and I went on a long thrifty adventure today. We stopped by a couple of back to back stores, named the community "garage sale/estate sale" store that we had meaning to go to. I guess they have it separated into smaller and bigger items. One store for the small, and one for the big. I found an amazing macrame purse and a sparkly gold sequin bag in the first shop. Next door, I found a vintage ceramic owl wall hanging. So cute!

We stopped by a local wood store, Woodcrafters, on our way to the next thrift shop. I had so much fun looking at the miniature wooden tires, wagon wheels, and "pickle barrels." I wanted to buy them, but what would I do with a bunch of wagon wheels? haha

At the next shop, it was like destiny again, a 30% off sale. I found three vintage button ups, a gold lamé top, a boho blazer, floral scarf, and a very interesting doll. Steve found a red, white, and blue tie for me to sell. What a fun trip!

We were originally going to "the bins" the huge goodwill warehouse, so I dressed for the cold and the dirt. We later decided we should go on a weekday, that place gets crazy on Saturdays. This was my favorite hoodie a few summers ago, now it is my junky one. Funny how that goes..

I'll be photographing and listing these in the next few days, so keep checking in at Mothballz.

Vintage Keychains

I can still remember being late to school in fifth grade, walking down the empty, quiet hallway, tightly grasping the bundle of keychains hanging from my backpack so they won't make that jingle jangle sound and alert everyone to my tardiness! I guess that was a 90s thing. All the cool kids had twenty or so keychains on their Jansport backpack. Yellow smiley faces, stretchy peace sign hands, magic eight balls, miniature shoes..

Well, 90s is technically vintage, oh gosh I feel old, so let's take a trip down nostalgia lane:

Happy Friday!

w i w - Comfies

Just lazing around today.. I stayed up late working on the blog last night, so I slept til noon. Woke up sore today. I was in a series of accidents a few years ago that are still working their way out. A stiff back means yoga pants day. There is some good in everything! I had fun giggling on the couch this morning with Steve, being silly. I have a bad habit of singing to the cats. Good thing I have him or I'd be a crazy cat lady! haha

Gameplan: Working on the blog, the shop, and scanning some pictures for Steve today.

This is where I'll be spending my day!

Our computer chair is comfy but on second thought, it is a pilates ball kind of day.

This is Steve's, so it is a little big. haha

But check out that posture! :)

Trying to work in some physical therapy today too.

Ok. Enough goofing off. Hope you are equally as ambitious today!
